Diani really can’t help being a romantic destination. It in itself oozes love, with its kilometers of snowy white beaches and clear waters, it really is hard to not be obsessed. And while we believe that love should be celebrated every day, there is of course that good old Holiday that comes around every year in the form of Valentine’s Day. It has been around for decades and is the perfect way to declare your love to those you care about the most.
Diani undoubtedly has something for everyone, especially when it comes to tailoring the perfect day (or weekend OR holiday) for the person you care about the most. So here are our top 3 Reasons to Fall in Love with Valentine’s Day in Diani:
1. Something for the adventure lovers in love:
One of the loveliest things about love is that you tend to be drawn to people with similar interests and hobbies. Thankfully the list of activities for adventure lovers in Diani is not a short one.
Dive into love with Kenya’s leading dive center, Diving the Crab. Located right next door to Nomad Beach Bar and Restaurant, Diving the Crab is sure to start your Valentines Day off with an otherworldly experience. Here is what your day would look like with them: Early rise before heading off at 8:30am to one (or two) dive spots located off Diani Beach with stunning coral reefs, fish and turtles to spot. They provide you with refreshments on the boat, all the necessary equipment and free transport to and from their HQ.
Sail off into the sunset with the Shamsa Dhow. A traditional Swahili boat that sailed from Lamu to Diani around 10 years ago, Shamsa Dhow promises to show you Diani in a different light. Gliding over the sea’s and taking in all the gorgeous views around. It would be a shame to miss this on your list of things to do in Diani!

2. Something for the food lovers:
Diani is certainly not short of good restaurants and it’s important to spread your wings (and taste buds) while you are on holiday.
Without a doubt Nomad Beach Bar and Restaurant is pulling out all the stops this year for their Valentine’s dinner and for a ridiculously good price too. Three courses (paired with wines if you choose) for KES 4,500. We are set to transform our iconic venue into a spot filled to the brim with love. Our wonderful in-house violinist Wiebke, who has travelled all the way from Ibiza, Spain, will be serenading the night away. Free roses for all the lovely ladies and a stunning flower heart to capture your Valentine’s Day 2025 memories forever. For more information on the event, including the menu, click here.
3. Day trips for the travelling lovers:

It’s quite normal to get cabin fever while you’re on holiday or on a romantic weekend away. Or you might just be the type of person who finds it hard to sit still for longer than 24 hours. There is no judgement here.
One place that stands out on top in Diani when we think of romance is Chale Island Resort. Which also happens to be the only Private Island escape in Kenya. No biggie. The island really speaks for itself, it is seclusion and romance on a whole other level. We would try and describe how beautiful it is but we think the photos do it more justice. For USD 120 per person, you can enjoy this slice of luxury for the day, have a delicious lunch and 4pm tea. Times are from 10am to 5pm sharp.
That’s all from us on Valentine’s Day this year. Lots of love, The Nomad Team xxx
